Jewels, Hats, Eco-Chic Clothes

Posted by Dada's Candy on Friday, December 10, 2010, In : gallery
Eco-chic? What does that mean? Repurposed, hand-made, with minimal impact on the environment, yet elegant and stylish. On 8 December, Dada's Candy was represented at the Dallas Greendrinksin their first Dallas-based Eco-Chic Fashion Show.

The model is wearing one of our most love-intensive and work-intensive pieces, the traditional kraluz from surroundings of Zagreb. It is red and gorgeous.

A day in Zagreb

Posted by Dada's Candy on Sunday, July 4, 2010,

I really enjoyed myself amongst so many extraordinary women yesterday at the International Conference of SDP Women's Forum in Zagreb. They celebrated 15 years of their formation.

Women from all over the world together.

Day in the Country

Posted by Dada's Candy on Sunday, July 4, 2010,
We went to visit the countryside of Croatia today, to visit my relatives and to take 9 baby hens and 1 baby rooster to my brother's ranch in the country. They are on a "scholarship" to live in Zagorje (Croatia's beautiful countryside), lay eggs and forage for grubs, beatles, bugs and fresh grass. In exchange, we will get fresh and organic eggs, so that I can make homemade pastries, omelets and other goodies.
Pictured on the photo with me are Luna (my doggie) and a 4-day old chick. Isn't he cute?

One month, she featured Dada's Candy pieces and paired them with the work of a Brazilian painter. The artwork was fluid and strong, just as women are at ...

Posted by Dada's Candy on Monday, October 12, 2009, In : nature

Throughout history, women have been drawn to beautiful, intricate designs. We all love to look and feel beautiful. We women also love colors. Some colors represent certain elements and values, especially in the women's archetype and psyche.

Feminine scholars and scholars examining our past through fairytales confirm that BLACK is the color of mud, the fertile, the basic stuff into which ideas are sown, but also the color of death, the blackening of the light. It is a promise that you will soo...

Listen and Dance to the Croatian song "Ptica Vuga"

Posted by Dada's Candy on Wednesday, July 29, 2009,

During our most recent trunk show at Da Space, we had streamed music from various Croatian ethno bands. The music is very subtle and sweet, enlisting the feminine connection with nature. One of my favorites is "Ptica Vuga" by Croatian band Afion.

Afion is an acoustic band whose members are drawn together by their love for playing traditional songs. Their style is a brew of traditional and classical instruments in a way that resembles traditional sounds. The foundations of their whole musical e...
